IT is quite funny post to compare Myanmar's economic development rate with most developed nations around the world. We are just starting and open to the world from zero. As a developing country like Myanmar, seeing single digit figure increase annually is not a fruitful success I think. Any nation who are in the process of transition will have 7% easily if the govt is doing slight of his obligation. It is understandable if the writer is a layman. But the writer is senior official from finance ministry and it look like he is writing the post to please its superiors and brain wash our people from rural area. Obviously, such post would be published on govt back media to spread the deliberate effort post.
Everybody in Myanmar knows that who are taking advantage from Myanmar's reform and it make 7% GDP growth further in the drain. The ex-military officials and their cronies are establishing so many companies and they got a lot permit easily and own so many business across all sectors. Meanwhile, the ordinary citizens became even more poorer. The govt continue to fail creating much needed jobs for our youth and working adults. The govt keep busying with their own propaganda and possibly with the preparation for next GE in 2015. In this scenario, a post saying Myanmar's GDP growth can compete with a handful of world's leading economies is hilarious.
People are still jumping out of country for better life. The govt recently allowed maid agency to send our women to Hong Kong and Singapore. The news is closely followed by tragic accidents in Singapore and guess to hear the same in HK as well in near future because HK is famous for maid abusive. Then, they are shamelessly declare how much we are on the right tract going to the developed nation. Their declaration could be true with condition that they all step down in 2015 and pave the way for competent person like ASSK. Otherwise, our country's future would be dragged to further miserable stage.
