A poem to remember

THE SECOND PART of the previous post poem become more serious by poet. He seems not happy with his fellow citizen's situation and he voice out more by using harder words. We can see his honesty and loyalty to his country as well as people. I realize the important of artiste and adored him all the way. The below is second part of the poem to be enjoyed.

Our Country

Wake up Myanmar

Ohh my fellow citizens.....

Our villages and lands

Within our territory

To drink sweet water

ျမစ္ေခ်ာင္းကန္ႏွင့္ there are so many rivers, creeks and lakes

To eat variety of fruits and vegetables

မ်ားလည္းမ်ား၏ there are more than enough

However it is happening to our land

တမြဲမြဲႏွင့္ we are still poors

ဆင္းရဲကာသာ၊ with the full of plight

ကာလၾကာလွ်င္ if it continue long lasting

ျမင္သာျမင္ရ၊ it look like we just only able to see them

မစားရ၍ but unable to taste it

ေတာကၿပိတၱာ၊ we eventually are more likely to resemble

ျဖစ္မည္တည္း။ ghosts who unable to eat.

What a great poet is he? He could able to focus exactly our fate few decades in advance. Nowadays our government is finding the gulf of oil and gas one after another with the help of international giants who are ever hungry energy. But our people are not benefit from it. They still remain unchanged through their daily life. They still need to use firewood to cook their food while the whole world is using cooking gas to save forest. They still need to buy diesel & petrol from the private sector with the price of more expensive than global price. They don't know it's government's duty to make things cheaper by subsidies. They just experiencing them and swallowing the bitter taste by handling themselves.

Our government keeps busying with building hydropower projects all over the country as our country has so many strong and rough river that are suitable for generating hydro power. By doing so, the local peoples are inevitably losing their farm lands as well as deforestation due to nature of work much needed plain land. Anyway it's not bad if the outcome of electricity can benefit to local people. In fact, government is signing agreement to sell all generating hydro power to neighbouring country who are always demanding. So local people suffer from lose-lose situation. They are unlikely to get some compensation for the losing of their heritage cultivation land. They are helpless but accept it because there is no place to file for justice.

Who rule the court? It's of course by a handful of army chiefs and the case is going to file against leaders. It'ld be wasting time for ordinary people to file against them. It'ld be better to silent and just point out to their faith for losing their assets. It's happening to our country and we are very much used to that for decades and it even seem just normal to most of people. Nobody can help us. My question here is why this kind of thing is happening to innocent people? We don't expect so much from our government while we are trying to survive our life by traditional way. I don't know how the poet will write his poem if he's still alive now. Anyway his poem has been right to our people after it is created over ten year ago. May the poet be blessed by Buddha.
