Goodbye 2010 ; Welcome 2011

2010 is ticking down to end and we can sense the smell of 2011 at sight. Time and Tide waits for no men. What have we learned from 2010? We all see the world escaped from 2009 global recession and the economy recovered. Some countries are still struggling to settle the side effect from the worst recession after two years time. Some become victims of a bad economy. Jobless rate had hit record high in certain countries. People are suffering from both natural disaster and artificial terrorist plot. The world seems unhealthy due to people's careless efforts.

Some big countries become bigger and take bigger pie on world's stage. Some are busy with possessing a powerful weapons and some are seeking for international aids to rescue the plight of their people. In 2010, US led army left from Iraq while adding some forces to Afghanistan. China is trying to breast US as a new super power nation. China became world's second biggest economy at the expense of Japan. China's dominance became head line as it broke world's record one after another. China tried to appreciate its currency. US tried to manipulate world economy as usual. Korea Peninsular is at the stake of nuclear war. Asia pacific region keep war games and show instabilities.

Meanwhile my country drew the world's attention by holding much awaited election. Regardless of fair or sham, it has been finished by predicted result. The world's leaders has no much time to criticize the election result as our leaders release pro-democracy icon ASSK few days after election. People's complains suddenly diverted to ASSK's release. The whole world and people are eagerly watching what she can do for her country. As usual, she has come and gone. We have been witness the same story repeat in the past.

Myanmar government is busy with selling natural resources and earning record high foreign currency. Vast natural gas were found by MNCs and even make our country the second most natural gas export country in Asia Pacific region. I don't know who is first, but I'm not happy to get runner up post for my country. At the same time, billion worth projects are surfaced in my country such as deep ports at Kyauk Phyu and Htewai. China companies are building the hydro dam around my country. People are not happy to see development project as it doesn't change their life. Even they suffer from losing their farm land, rivers, forest, etc.

Myanmar has faced hottest summer as well as irregular moonson rain. It effectively spoiled harvest and the foods price are likely to soar. The inflection rate is unknown among people. The news are still unreliable. People continue to listen outside radio broadcaster. At the ethnic states, some battles are happening and forced local ethnic people flee their villages. Thailand got the refugees over the year and UNHCR keep watching the human right. I sympathize their plight but I can't do anything for them. I pray harder for their better and peaceful life in next year 2011.

I have been a milestone in 2010 as I became a father in July. Try to settle a work-family life within my effort. Keep working in oversea and let our very first baby girl stay with my relatives. We swallow all incoming pains due to homesick. We take responsibilities for failing to live together. We don't try to point out at other. But we are working under pressure at the hectic life. We struggle amid strange environment. We felt unstable job and risk at returning home at any time. Finally I found myself becoming a victim of global crisis. It's not only my problem. It's result of global effort. We all enjoy the life together and carry burdens when the time goes wrong. In this modernized world, we can't able to stand alone. We have to do our own part for the sake of better and greener world.

Hopefully we can have a better, prosperous, peaceful and healthy life in coming new year, 2011.
