No to offensive post

IN Myanmar, a joke saying that you can be an author if you can type and use internet. I am sure the originator meant to say people can write what he likes online without necessity of passing through censorship. They can freely write their opinion online and easily upload without difficulties. Today, internet has been exposed to much people especially through social media websites like Facebook and Twitter. Last Monday, our lady told media to take responsibility for their writing online. She also thinks that some journalists appear proud of their role by boasting that they can make a person promote or demote by their articles. She continues to remind Myanmar journalists to consider trial people as an innocence until the court make final decision to the case. The Journalist should not give some comments prior to the court's verdict which is very used to in local media community. As a result, now we are increasingly seeing defaming cases in courts.

Coincidentally, NTUC sacked its assistant director of membership wing for her offensive post on her personal Facebook account. She wrote a post which seem racist to Malay community here. She was disappointed to learn noisy Malay wedding held on the void desk of HDB and posted her anger on Facebook. It dearly cost her executive post within less than 24 hours span. She later issued statement of apology to all who had suffered by her offensive post. This saga has been headline for past two days and the government condemn such post which is danger to the harmony of multi-racial communities. It make us timely reminder as most of us today are using social media websites and quite open to upload our opinions to public. In fact, it is real threat to our security of life unless it is with appropriate manner. If we use social media positively, I'm sure our world would be better place to live in.

Let's say "No" to offensive post.
