Myanmarization Vs Workplace Bulliness

PLEASE do not find my title word in the dictionary because I just simply copy it from the big word "Globalization". I want to write something about my feeling and can't find a suitable word to name it. On the other hand, my poor English skill lead it to this word while I feel that I am entitled to write what I feel is good in my own blog and hope your forgiveness for that.

On the core point I trying to say is just respect. We, all Myanmar people, have been learning about the respect since we are as young as nursery child. Traditionally we need to show respect in dealing people around especially to our superiors, elder, older, teacher, etc. We absolutely accepted this aspect as a value of a person and also agreed it is a must to be followed through life time. Less or more, we have been practicing this discipline during our past time and it's been in our mind without prior notice. Actually it make Burmese people an honest and kind people among fellow world's citizen.

In real world, this is good to apply within our mother land and I find it weak point of our people when they are working together with multi-national work force. If I am not wrong, it's relatively correct to our daily life. Being a typical Burmese man, I also one of those who adapted myanarization and I find it difficult to settle in my alien workplace. let me explain it. As a Myanmar worker, we usually try to work hard especially when we are in oversea. Because we can't afford to lose current job and it'll cost us a lot if the job goes against us. It is one of so many reason being over-respect. As a result, our colleagues from other countries and native people find it easy to take advantage from it. I myself has come across such a behavior at my workplace both at Malaysia and Singapore.

I also cannot understand myself why it is happening to us. Possible answer is we are too quiet due to lack of language proficiency and it is enforcing to be bullied by colleagues. Basically I do my duties and responsibilities in time without taking other's hands while some come to me for their work. Whenever they(my superiors) asked me to help them, I always try to help in what I can without argument. By doing so, later this kind of jobs that are not supposed to be my duty become mine automatically. Being junior, I tried my best to safeguard my work and it dramatically lead to become a ground of bully. Later, they'll upset when I refuse to do their jobs and even will easily accuse me for lack of respect.

It's obvious to know between respect and bulliness as we were not born in yesterday. I learnt that they will always remember me when they have something to ask. On the other hand, they'll forget to give me when some opportunities arise. It doesn't matter the chance is big or small to them. I am basically type of shy person and never voice out for my opportunity even it is supposed to be for me. It's always difficult to delete/erase childish manner/behavior in life and it make me annoyed by myself. I see my mind if it is happy or not when other people are not fair to me. Of course it is uncomfortable and my heart would be pain silently. We, all employees, are paid for doing their respective jobs and I can't understand why they try to bully on their inferiors. I am unfortunately finding such a kind of people around my workplace. I wish not to create unnecessary argumentation among colleagues and try to do their demand despite they are totally unfair. I have come crossed so many similar cases and I still keeping this cultural base mind despite I have been working in oversea for more than 5 years. I don't know when I can able to abandon it so that I can become more professional just like my counterpart from other countries. Until that uncertain day, definitely I would be frustrated for this myanmarization. Wish all my fellow citizen who are working in oversea able to overcome this kind of allegation.

I apologize you if this article make you feel down. I just simply mention what I am feeling right now and I am solely responsible for that if it goes wrong from it's original attention by myself. I'ld be happy if I could able to see your comments upon this immature feeling. Hopefully this, too, shall pass away when the time goes by. Thank you for your valuable time.

Unstoppable China

CHINA is doing good at all department not only in its original mainland but oversea. This unstoppable asia's giant is breaking records at all time and become a global power among other big influential states. Nowadays China have possessed almost everything what a developed nations have and they have always edge for its demanding domestic market and work force dynamic. No wonder all multi-national companies are seeking any opportunity for making investment in main land china as the growing market is unbeatable compare to anywhere else in the world.

We read some milestones on paper that China had done frequently. Some analyst even forecast that China would be the largest economy in the world within 10 to 17 years time. Even in the recession time, China economy have blossomed to one digit while other counterparts are struggling to survive from an adverse global economy. It clearly show the world how China have been good in world society and immediately became a super power nation. It has a lucrative market, technology, nuclear weapon, own satellite and rocket technology, among others. I was amazed to witness the latest version of China's national day celebration. They are boasting by marching and showing its modernized army power on that day. The media are widely expressed
by highlighting on the difference between then and now. The best thing I admire was intercontinental rocket that can reach everywhere on this planet and also able to carry a nuclear weapon. What a wonderful invention? In this point, what I don't understand is why US and its alley didn't concern China's nuclear power just like North Korea and Iran? Probably China's possession is not threaten to world's peace and it's not necessary to take measure like the aforesaid countries.

Recently China has launched its fastest train project in the world and it can travel as fast as 350 km/hour. What an amazing experience for a developing country and its people? No matter technology imported or not. For sure is China government's contribution to its people's convenience. The ambition of China government on railways network had improved significantly and now the latest train technology even can beat the aviation sector. Last week I read a news that some domestic airlines from China already cut some route less than 500km to prevent it's loss because their short distance market have been taken by high speed railway network. In China, now people can enjoy world's latest train technology and they are reducing traveling time for more than double compare to its conventional trains.

What I am thinking here is "where do all these old trains go?" It is likely to go a poor countries like our country after making a major repair or haul. To the best of my knowledge, our country's railway system is still relying on China-make locomotives and carriages. It's mean China govt can make some money from its rubbish like old technology toys. Anyway our people can enjoy China's antique products as it's always come cheap and even given as a present at some points. Anyway something is better than nothing and I'm looking forward to see them on the tracks of our land.

How last can a reputation be?

HOW LONG DOES it take to establish a brand to be recognized by not only domestically but internationally? Probably it can consume a few years for domestic market and a decade to international market. But once it come to breakdown, it take as short as a few days. What an interesting is it but it's universal truth. Just watch out and take a look at a business world, you will notice some big boys are falling unbelievably.

I recently noticed that Japan's big boys JAL was filing its bankruptcy statement followed by its fellow citizen Toyota, the world biggest car company's crisis. Nobody will think a big corporate companies like JAL and Toyota will end with a bad story like these. JAL (Japanese Airline) is a leading carrier among the regional heavy weight. But as a consequent of a global recession, air line industry was severely affected and JAL was no exception. As a world's second largest economy's flag carrier, nobody will think JAL will have a such a kind of failure in term of financial. Everybody was surprised to see them surrender by this way rather than saved by its prosperous government. There might have been a reason that I can't understand with my own tiny brain.

Another tragedy for Japanese big boy is Toyota who is facing now custom complains for its latest version of safety concern problems. One is anti-brake system failure and another is accelerator pedal false that lead to exercise recalls hundred thousands cars that can cost Toyota over US$ 2 billions and they are still counting. The worse is losing customer confident upon its product and it'll take long time to get back the same market proportion as before this case. Toyota has been global brand and Japanese proud for a leading corporate company for a few decade since it has been established. In order to get its reputation, it has been built for as long as three generation time, but it can be destroyed by as short as a few days. I believe they can find the best solution in saving their brand sooner or later.

If a reputation of a brand can be spoiled within a relatively short time, how about a person when it breaks a rule of society? I think is not different between a material and a human being. It can take somebody for a whole life to make himself a truth-worthy man. But the aforesaid reputation can be abandoned by a single mistake especially in a morally. Toyota is likely to loose a bit for its quality control system once they accept some default part from its suppliers and it could effectively spoiled its global brand that had been constructed by several decades. It seems unfair to a company but no rooms for excuses. We also, in our life, cannot afford to give excuses when we are committing something wrong that our society won't accept and we will have to pay sth as a penalty and it'll hurt us. Hopefully we can take extra care when it come to test our moral value in life and try to become a person of value for ever.

where is moral value?

I HAVE read a lot moral stories these days on the newspaper and I just asking myself if the value of people have been decline by time especially in the modernize and wealthy countries. How do we measure the quality of life? Is it depend on the rich/poor, famous/infamous, educated/non-educated? I don't have, for sure, a proper answer to these question.

Few weeks ago, Tiger Wood's news was headline on the media world. As we all already known, he is a first ever billionaire sportsman and world's no. 1 golf professional. Plus he has a beautiful wife with 2 cutey childs. No doubt, his life is beyond a perfect in term of prosperous and popularity. Nobody will think he'll also have a dark time to come across oneday and it came to him really finally according to a circulating reports. There were 14 mistresses come out with a different story with a superstar golf man. It might be money ditching practice, but the reason is related to his morality. Nobody can deny that including himself. He might have thought the world will be blind as long as he affords to pay all his second strings. As a result, he lost his own family, some lucrative sponsor fees, withdraw from all major competitions among others. He paid multi-million dollar to his wife for divorce and he is finally left alone and I don't think he'll be as happy as before this case surfaced. Now he is under treatment of sex-addict and he look forward to get second chance to get back on the right track.

Similarly, another high profile sportsman, England national football team captain, John Terry, was under spot light last week for dating with his international team-mate's former girl friend. We might have been thought that this kind of behavior is not strange among western countries. But they also respect the value of moral and don't accept such a case. He has made all the best to save his figure and there is always penalty for wrong doing even he is a multi-millionaire with a very good-paid job. His wrong acting cost him England captain and uncertainty among his own family. He appointed consultant firm to engage and oversee all potential affects and spent a lot money to safe his reputation. But less or more he has been a loser among the world community despite there are few percentage of supporter.

In Malaysia, opposition leader is facing sodomy trial and what a funny case among well educated people? But it was really happening to our world and we are trying to survive at all time. Today the judge was accused for govt bias and announced to step down from this case. People are wondering whether this was actual story or not and eager to know the end verdict. At least the opposition leader's reputation had been affected by some ways. In the political world, there would be always complicated and I can't consider what is behind with my tiny brain.

In Singapore, recent result show more minor(below 14 year) have been experience sex and it is consistently highlighted by the media so that the parent, teacher and authority can minimize such case in future. I don't think it would be easy task to do successfully. Sometime I surprisingly read about the story of rape in which victim is daughter of her own father. What a wild and cruel world? I can't imagine what kind of matter lead such cases. But it's really happen to our community.

In our own country, there are reportedly increase the quantity of night clubs at the big cities. What does it show exactly? Is it the sign of development or declination? I read an article about day clubs from my domestic journal website and amazed to know that the customers to these day clubs are majorly students. How do we prevent our students going such a wrong place at the young age? Only the authority will have the answer and I'm looking forward to see them shut off in favor of country's future because our future's status is totally depend on today generation.
