FINALLY, our Choa Chu Kang station got a ceiling fan last week. I smile at it because I remember the voice article I read in the paper few months back. In the wake of accident pertaining Thai girl falling to the track, the SMRT decided to install screening doors at all elevated stations. It cost SMRT million dollars for the sake of commuter's safety. Previously, passengers are supposed to stand behind the yellow line for their safety. SMRT staffs keep reminding people who do not follow the rules that are shown everywhere on station. The audio system keep reminding commuters to stay behind yellow line.
Once screening doors are in place, people start complaining for less ventilation while they are waiting for train on platform level. I know there would be always something for people to complain so long as they are not contended with what they have. For a person who come from third world country, Singapore's transportation system is beyond expectation and world class. We praise it and feel comfort to use it. But authority here never fail to fulfill their people desire/concern. Sooner, we could able to see big ceiling fans at elevated station. Now all commuters do not need to worry about feeling hot there due to screening doors. I don't know if all elevated stations have been install them. The station nearby my house has got it and we're blessed by the convenience. Thank you SMRT for your considerate effort. We appreciate it.
