EVERYBODY has their own standard based on where they're living on. I recently notice a news of American scientist's suicide case which is on-going at court following family's complain. The case was happened on one year ago. US scientist was found hanged himself against the wall of bathroom. There was a handwriting note by himself. If he is a citizen of developing country or poor country, the case would have been closed easily. But he is a US citizen and his family did not accept police report easily. They hired a profession to conduct the case. And issue statement that their son wasn't suicide and they insist it was murder instead by citing what they are finding.
Few days ago in Singapore court, the family suddenly boycott the court hearing in the middle of the day. Once media approach them for their act, they said, they are no longer confident in Singapore's court system'. They added that they felt the outcome are predetermine. What a dare saying against island state's well known system is it? The hearing ongoing and judge is hearing all witness before making final verdict. The Tod's parent also accused that police has not been doing their work properly since initial stage. They pointed some discrepancies between police report and their finding. The case has been followed by wide media coverage both local and international. Even some rumor said some producers approach victim family to make a film deal about the case. If the film become realistic, I think republic's image would be affected somewhat. For the time being, I am interesting to see what would be the final outcome from the serial investigation.
This crime case teaches me that US citizens are not easily surrender and their government officials are always ready to help their citizen in crisis regardless of the place across the world.
