THIS evening, KBZ FC will play against loyola meralco sparks FC from Philippine at Jalan Besar Stadium of Singapore. The RHB Singapore Cup is drawing 12 S league clubs and 4 visiting foreign teams to participate in this edition. Out of 4 visiting teams from 4 different countries, only 2 has gone through to quarter final. Unfortunately, the two foreign teams is meeting in this quarter final. Hopefully it's good chance for both team to cruise semi-final. Avoiding some good teams from S league is considered lucky for both teams.
Myanmar's football spirit has been highest possible this month as our national youth team U-22 just has qualified for Asian level for the first time in new era at the expense of Malaysia. Football has been in our blood. Our people never failed to support our national team whenever it come to compete. I see through media that some football fans are not getting ticket to watch alive their supporting team. Some are even crying in front of stadium as they are denied to access stadium despite they have ticket in hand. Due to security concern, the authority has closed its doors to prevent over crowded fans. Myanmar is such a nation and our youth team had paid back people for their faith in them.
We have been itchy for unable to attend recent football matches played in Yangon. But this is our turn as RHB Singapore Cup 2012 will play in Singapore. I am sure a lot fellow citizen will go and support KBZ FC this evening at Jalan Besar Stadium. It's most likely that Jalan besar area would turn like Peninsular plaza at City Hall and Lucky plaza at Orchard tonight. As Myanmar and Philippine migrant workers are from football crazy nation, they will never fail to support their teams regardless of national or private club. It would be a strong competition between fans as well as players tonight. I hope, Jalan Besar Stadium will see unusual crowd it has seen through S league matches tonight. FAS has shown disappointment most recently as it failed to draw required crowd in Canon Lion City Cup despite they have tried all the best. In fact, it is people who make the football atmosphere great. I am sure Myanmar and Philippine fans will together make Jalan Besar Stadium become noisy place with full of happiness and cheers, at least tonight.
May a better team wins the game.
